Happy birthday, Kapuso!

A day before he turned a year older, Kapuso actor Benjamin Alves flew to the island paradise of Boracay on Wednesday, March 30, for a well-deserved R&R and birthday celebration.

The 2016 GMA Network Excellence Awards (GNEA) ambassador started his birthday escapade by visiting the popular shake shop Jonah's and catching the island's famous sunset.

Before the clock struck midnight, Ben posted "I'm not getting old, I'm getting better," on his Instagram, together with his birthday wish for this year.

"My only wish every year is that everyone is at a better situation today than they were last year, my family is healthy, and my friends continue to grow and are still around to celebrate with me. To all who greeted and spent some time with me this month, thank you so much. Because of you, my birth month is always incredible. Let's all continue to grow guys. Let's all celebrate and love each other better!" he wrote in the caption.

And on his birthday, March 31, he was surprised with a birthday cake.

Thank you so much for the surprise birthday cake! Will definitely be back because of the food and especially your sweet hospitality! Made my day even more special. ??????????
