Get well soon, Luna!
Last week has been stressful for the family of Bubble Gang comedian Betong Sumaya after his niece Luna was hospitalized.
Betong posted on Facebook last January 31 that Luna was diagnosed with appendicitis and needed an operation.
“Guys please pray para sa pamangkin namin na si Luna. Ooperahan siya ngaun for appendicitis. Please kailangan po namin ng prayers ninyo,” the Kapuso comedian posted.
According to the Johns Hopkins Medicine website, appendicitis happens when the inside of your appendix is blocked. Appendicitis may be caused by various infections such as viruses, bacteria, or parasites in your digestive tract.
It added that the appendix can get infected and can rupture if not treated. This can happen as soon as 48 to 72 hours after you have symptoms. Because of this, appendicitis is a medical emergency.
In his next Facebook post on the same day, the Sparkle host shared that Luna is recovering and has been transferred to a regular room already.
“Ty po LORD. Nailipat na po si Luna sa kanyang regular room after her operation sa appendicitis. Salamat po talaga sa mga nagdasal kanina at naagapan ang pagputok ng kanyang appendix. Guys please continue praying for her speedy recovery, salamat po ng marami.”
Betong also shared another photo with Luna and her family when he visited the hospital last Friday (February 2) and asked his followers on Instagram to continue to pray for her fast recovery.
“Ty po LORD. Binisita namin si Luna kanina kasama si Kuya Lukas, naiyak siya nang makita niya ang kanyang Kuya. Siguradong namiss nila ang isa't-isa kasi 1 week na silang di nagkita, sobrang nakakatouch.
“Iba yung saya sa mukha ni Luna kahit may mga nararamdaman pa sya after her surgery. Di pa siya makakauwi kasi need pang imonitor ang kanyang recovery. Guys please let's continue praying for Luna's fast recovery. Maraming salamat po.”
Aside from Bubble Gang, Betong is a mainstay in the noontime show Tahanang Pinakamasaya.
