Betong Sumaya has become a household name for comedy, and with his trademark role of Antonietta, he has built for himself a career that opens to a lot of opportunities. Believing that he is just getting started, he keeps reinventing himself as he goes through different ventures besides acting and hosting.
 
Apart from his TV shows, Betong is also busy volunteering with Hands On Manila, where he puts his talent to good use. This year, not only did he host the Servathon 2017 but he also participated in assembling kits that contain basic necessities for communities in Mindanao, most especially the families affected by the conflict in Marawi.
 
Betong shared that he has decided to make this an annual commitment. “Actually, second year ko na ito na mag-host ng Hands On Manila na event. Aside kasi sa kagustuhan nating makapagbigay ng magagandang programa sa TV, isa rin sa goal ko ay ang makatulong sa mga nangangailangan kaya naman parang yearly tradition na sa akin ang maghost ng Servathon,” shares Betong.
 
With his experience in Servathon, Betong believes that he still has a lot to learn and it will be easier by doing something that can help influence people to follow his advocacy. On September 28-29, Betong will be joining the Communicators and PR professionals in the country to inspire their fellow practitioners to “Ignite, Collide and Unite” at the much-awaited 2017 Public Relations (PR) Congress which will happen at the Shangri-la The Fort, BGC.
 
Betong’s active participation in the congress would help him more in learning how to influence others with his good cause.
 
“I am excited to be part of the PR Congress. Bukod kasi sa nagawa mo na yung kinasanayan mong mang-entertain, may natutunan ka pa,” says the Kapuso host.
