Fake News

A fake news article resembling a GMA Network piece is circulating on social media, falsely claiming that Filipinos can earn up to ₱2.8 million per month by investing ₱14,100 in a "Trade Vector AI project."

A fake news article designed to resemble a legitimate GMA Network article is currently circulating on social media.

The scam post includes an edited photo and a deepfake video of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., falsely promoting a so-called "Trade Vector AI project." It claims that Filipino citizens can earn up to ₱2.8 million per month by investing just ₱14,100, clearly a deceptive and fraudulent scheme.

The layout and branding were deliberately designed to mimic GMA Network's official Entertainment website, making it appear credible.

Department of Information and Communication Technology Secretary Henry Aguda previously raised concerns to Meta, Facebook's parent company, about the growing spread of fake news and online scams on the platform. While Meta assured that such content would be "demoted," Secretary Aguda insisted that demotion is not enough, as these dangerous posts must be removed entirely.

The spread of fake news has been rampant on the internet these days. Please be advised to stay cautious of fake articles that mimic the appearance of GMA Network's official digital platforms.
