As written in Soompi, an acquaintance of T.O.P. told the press, "The results from tests have yet to come out, but I’m suspicious that it’s due to an overdose from excessive drug use."
T.O.P. (real name Choi Seung-hyun) was found unconscious and was rushed to the hospital after his recent drug scandal of smoking marijuana.
As written in Soompi, an acquaintance of T.O.P. told the press, "The results from tests have yet to come out, but I’m suspicious that it’s due to an overdose from excessive drug use. He was having a hard time due to recent events and I think his stress reached a climax. It’s very unfortunate and I hope he wakes up soon.”
The singer-actor was also dismissed from his mandatory military service this year. He was currently serving as a policeman in Gangnam, the Big Bang member rendered service for three months and twenty-seven days before being discharged from the army.
He also released an apology following the incident. He wrote, "This is Choi Seung Hyun. First of all, I would like to sincerely apologize for causing great disappointment and disturbance with a huge wrongdoing. I am too ashamed of myself to stand in front of everyone for an apology. I have no excuses and feel very regretful and fearful, so I am carefully writing down these feelings as words. Our members, my agency, the public."

T.O.P. portrayed the role of Vick, an assassin in the Korean drama Iris, as seen in GMA Heart of Asia. He is also the oldest member of top South Korean group Big Bang, and is known for his deep voice and strong rapping skills.
