Billy Crawford Colleen Garcia being used for fraud

Celebrity couple Billy Crawdford and Coleen Garcia expressed their shock and disappointment when they found out that someone has been using their names to scam people for money.

With the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontliners during this COVID-19 crisis, many celebrities have took it upon themselves to raise funds to purchase the much needed items for donations.

So it was shocking for celebrity couple Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia when they found out that someone, who claimed to be their fan, has been supposedly using their names to scam money from people who were buying surgical masks.

Billy took to Instagram Story to share what he's learned about this modus. He said that this person scammed someone into giving at least PhP 250,000.

In a statement, the couple clarified that they didn't purchase any surgical masks from this "fan."

They are also heartbroken that someone would take advantage of this health crisis to scam people for money.

"We have been approached by some people regarding this subject, so we just want to clarify that, although we have met and spoken to Jaydee on several occasions in the past we have NEVER PURCHASED ANY SURGICAL MASKS FROM HER."

"We do not, and we will never, tolerate scamming. We apologize if you placed your trust on her based on the photos that we have together.

"It's one thing to take advantage of people, but to do so at such a vulnerable time is just completely disappointing.

Billy and Coleen tied the knot in a star-studded wedding in Balesin in April 2018.

As of yesterday, April 2, the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 2,633 cases of people with coronavirus, while 51 have already recovered.
