The Binibining Pilipinas organization is calling on Filipino pageant fans and followers to throw their support behind social media personality and beauty queen Herlene Budol as she is set to compete in her first international pageant.

The Binibining Pilipinas organization announced on its Instagram account that Herlene, who finished first runner-up during the Binibining Pilipinas pageant, will be the country's representative to Miss Planet International in Kampala, Uganda, with the pageant set to be held on November 19. The organization then called on everybody to support Herlene's journey to bring home the country's first Miss Planet International crown.

Herlene's participation in Miss Planet International was first announced late in August on the Miss Planet International Facebook page.

At the time, Herlene took to her Facebook page to describe the opportunity as a dream and said she felt the tension for the upcoming international pageant.

"OMG! Naiiyak at na-e-excite ako. Parang isang panaginip nga lang dahil para sa akin isang malaking karangalan na nakatungtong ko sa national pageant at ngayon naman isasabak na ako sa international level," she wrote.

During a contract signing with a beauty brand, Herlene also revealed that she will be using a translator at the Miss Planet International pageant after admitting that she is not as fluent in English.

Herlene will be the fourth Binibining Pilipinas queen to compete in an international pageant in the new couple of months. Chelsea Fernandez is currently in Albania to compete in Miss Globe, while Gabrielle Basiano is in Egypt to compete in Miss Intercontinental. Roberta Tamondong is competing in the Miss Grand International pageant in Indonesia.
