Myrna ended up the fourth runner-up of this year's Miss International competition, which was won by Colombia's Catalina Duque Abreu.

Myrna had a strong showing during the pageant, frequently catching attention with her fashion. During the Miss International preliminaries, she walked the runway in an eye-catching golden gown made by designer Rich Sabinian.

In the caption to her Instagram post, Myrna explained that the bodice is “a breathtaking fusion of hand-embroidered Solihiya motifs and delicate Kalado detailing”, and that the embroidery echoes the eight rays of the Philippine sun. She further described the gown as “a proud, elevated tribute to Filipino identity presented with international refinement.”

During her send-off at the World Kitchens at Gateway back in October, Myrna revealed that she is going into the Miss International pageant with a “year's worth” of preparation.

“I'm not going to say it's a waiting time of more than one year. But it's a preparation for more than one year. Along the way, I saw the beauty in waiting…because it's really all about perspective. The way I see it, it's an advantage for us, because I was able to do everything and prepare everything in one year,” she explained.

Myrna was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International in July last year, with her response to the question: “If a time machine brings you back to 1964, 60 years ago when Binibining Pilipinas began, what message would you tell the Filipino women of that time about the women of 2024?”

Myrna replied “I will tell the women of the past that we have achieved our goal which is to empower women. Standing her at the age of 17, I started to finance for my own studies and help my family financially. I was able to do this by all these women who paved the way to empower us to always reach for our goals no matter what it is. Because in life, we can always achieve our dreams as long as we believe that we can and thanks to them all.”
