Philippine pageant season is definitely in full swing as the country's oldest beauty pageant organization has announced it is now open to applicants.
In one of the pinned posts on its official Instagram accounts, the Binibining Pilipinas organization announced that it is now accepting applicants for the 2026 pageant. In the caption to the post, the organization asked if aspiring beauty queens are now ready to #BeBinibini? It also included a link to the application form, as well as the deadline of March 14 and the final screening on March 23.
The announcement comes after the organization recently welcomed Miss Globe Chayanthanus “Chearim” Saradatta, who visited the country last month. Chearim spoke with the media during her visit, and even shared some advice for pageant beginners with GMA Lifestyle.
“I want them to be themselves and try their best. Sometimes, you are afraid that you would not be enough because you don't look like this person, you cannot walk like the other person, you cannot speak like the other person. But it's fine because we are all different,” she said.
“Show what you have. You already encourage a lot of watchers, men, women, LGBTQ+, anyone who have the same reality as you, they will feel empowered just to see you on the stage. Don't be like any other person, be yourself,” she continued.
Successful applicants will compete to succeed current reigning Binibining Pilipinas International Myrna Esguerra, who ended up fourth runner-up of the 2025 Miss International competition, which was won by Colombia's Catalina Duque Abreu.
Myrna was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International in July 2024, with her response to the question: “If a time machine brings you back to 1964, 60 years ago when Binibining Pilipinas began, what message would you tell the Filipino women of that time about the women of 2024?”
Myrna replied “I will tell the women of the past that we have achieved our goal which is to empower women. Standing her at the age of 17, I started to finance for my own studies and help my family financially. I was able to do this by all these women who paved the way to empower us to always reach for our goals no matter what it is. Because in life, we can always achieve our dreams as long as we believe that we can and thanks to them all.”
