A trip to the third largest province in the Philippines is made even more exciting with Drew's biyahero tips.

By MARY LOUISE LIGUNAS

The four to five hour trip to Pangasinan is no longer a dragging duration for biyahero Drew Arellano. Trips to the third largest province in the Philippines are exciting for the professional traveler as it never fails to provide him an unforgettable adventure.

This time, he goes to Alaminos, the gateway to top tourist spot Hundred Islands National Park. Together with the Biyahe Ni Drew team, he lists down five activities that can be done in the destination.

Biyahero tip #1: Go ziplining

Enjoy a 546-meter zipline adventure from Governor’s Island to Virgin Island. Relieve nervousness with the 500-step hike to the takeoff point. Aside from the exhilarating ride, there are glorious sights to behold, including a life-size statue of St. Joseph the Carpenter, the patron saint of Alaminos.

Ziplining: 250 PHP

Biyahero tip #2: Go helmet diving

After ziplining, take a five minute boat ride to Coral Garden where you’ll be oriented and given a twenty-kilo helmet. It may seem heavy at first but once you’re underwater, you’ll barely feel a thing and instead get to marvel at the beautiful surroundings.

Biyahero tip #3: Go cliff diving

More heart-pounding adventures await as you can go for another dip, this time, coming from a cliff. Cliff diving at Marcos Island is free and the experience becomes more spectacular with the underwater cave.

Cliff diving: Free!

Biyahero tip #4: Go snorkeling

To complete the water activities, go snorkeling at Lopez Island to see more of what underwater has to offer.

Biyahero tip #5: Feast on the seafood

After a tiring day, biyaheros deserve a treat with an affordable and scrumptious seafood boodle fight meal.

Boodle fight: 300 PHP per head

Trips to Alaminos, Pangasinan could be as low as 300 PHP for non-aircon buses, and 393 PHP for aircon buses from Cubao. From Alaminos, take a tricycle to Lucap Wharf, the jump-off point to Hundred Islands. Boat rental prices start at 800 PHP. The Biyahe Ni Drew team suggests bringing more friends and family members so more people can divide the cost.
