In a special Biyahe Ni Drew episode, Drew Arellano was joined by his wife Iya Villania to popular tourist destination Hong Kong. The couple enjoyed popular tourists attractions and tried new activities the Chinese city has to offer.

Mr. and Mrs. Arellano share a couple of tips to Biyaheros who think about going to the former British colony, whether for the first time or the nth time.

Biyahero tip #1: Get lost in a new simulation game room

Lost in Hong Kong, located in Matheson Street, Causeway Bay. is a simulation game room that is popular among tourists and locals. It offers a 45-minute interactive game where up to six players have to solve clues in order to get out of differently themed rooms.

Biyahero tip #2: Go artsy in a ceramic haven

Visit Loveramics, a unique souvenir shop in The Pulse, along Beach Road in Repulse Bay. The cute shop sells modern style tableware and offers a workshop that suits kids of all ages. The Arellanos had an artsy date as they designed and painted a mug and a figurine.

Biyahero tip #3: Try snake soup

Although hesitant at first, Drew tried the snake soup in restaurant Shea Wong Ip in Nullah Road, Kowloon. After his first sip, he concluded that the exotic dish actually tastes good. The practice is becoming more common among locals during cold seasons because of the warmth that snake meat and soup provide.

Biyahero tip #4: Go to Disneyland

A trip to Hong Kong is made more fun with a visit to Disneyland. Aptly called ‘the happiest place on earth’, the theme park offers rides and shows for the whole family. As a bonus to the homesick, there are many Filipinos working in it so chances are you’ll make a friend or two.

Biyahero tip #5: Make a wish

An age-old practice in Hong Kong is to head to Fong Ma Po Village to make a wish in the Lam Tsuen Wishing Trees. Originally, there was a 200-year-old tree where wishers would hang real oranges as they said a prayer. However, the tree couldn’t carry the volume anymore. Now, an artificial tree still sits in the same area and the guest would throw an artificial orange with a paper where his wishes are written.

Drew and Iya admit to have visited Hong Kong a couple of times already, but are surprised to know that there are many more activities that they can do. Aside from being a shopping district, our Asian neighbor also has a lot to offer for those looking for extreme adventures, food trips and a relaxing getaway.
