The Idol

BLACKPINK's Jennie is set to appear on the new HBO series 'The Idol.'

K-pop girl group BLACKPINK's Jennie is embarking on a new voyage and is stepping into the realm of acting as she takes on the role of a character in the upcoming HBO series The Idol.

The Idol produced by the creator of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, and singer The Weeknd, revolves around the story of a rising pop star and her budding romance with a self-help guru and contemporary cult leader.

As HBO released its trailer, Blinks (fans of BLACKPINK) immediately caught a glimpse of singer and rapper Jennie who had multiple exposures in it. In one scene, she was seen partying with the main star of the show Lily-Rose Depp and dancing with her on stage, and in another, seen making a distinctive cult gesture.

Speculations about the possible collaboration between Jennie and Abel Tesfaye a.k.a. The Weeknd have been fuming since November 2021 when they were first spotted together.

YG Entertainment, Jennie's agency, and the BLACKPINK member are yet to announce further details about this news.

While waiting for Jennie's debut in acting, here are some of the fans' reactions to the trailer:
