BLACKPINK member Lisa and Frédéric Arnault, LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) heir, are rumored to have broken up after a recent Vanity Fair profile suggested that the pair may no longer be together.
In its summer cover story titled "The Life of a K-Pop Showgirl," published on June 23, Vanity Fair took a closer look at Lisa's rise as a global superstar, her expanding career beyond music, and the realities of living in the spotlight.
The article also touched on the singer's rumored romance with Frédéric, the fourth son of luxury magnate Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH.
Although neither Lisa nor Frédéric has publicly confirmed their relationship, the two have been linked since 2023 following multiple sightings together.
"She was rumored to have been in a relationship with Frédéric Arnault, son of LVMH billionaire Bernard Arnault, since mid-2023—though she hasn't spoken about it in interviews. They seem to have now called it quits—eagle-eyed fans did notice that the scion was absent from her birthday celebration earlier this year," Vanity Fair wrote.
The publication's remarks quickly reignited discussions online, with fans revisiting longstanding speculation about the pair's relationship status.
According to the profile, Lisa chose not to address her personal life during the interview. Vanity Fair revealed that her publicist advised the reporter more than once not to ask about the topic, and the BLACKPINK star ultimately kept the conversation focused on other aspects of her life and career.
Instead, Lisa spoke candidly about the challenges of fame, particularly the lack of privacy that comes with being one of the most recognizable figures in K-pop.
When asked about the intense public interest in her personal relationships, including fan discussions on social media, Lisa shared her experiences dealing with "sasaengs," a term used to describe overly intrusive fans. She recalled incidents involving individuals waiting outside her home and attempting to approach her in public.
"I feel like after I came out and talked about how there's no privacy for me, (fans) now respect that a lot more," she said.
While expressing appreciation for her supporters, Lisa admitted that life under constant public attention can sometimes be overwhelming.
"They know that being in this position is not easy," she said. "Sometimes it's just a little too much, and sometimes I just want to be normal."
During a lie detector test with Vanity Fair uploaded on June 24, she was asked if she had been a heartbreaker in the past, and she answered, "No, like...I'm the one who got that a lot. I feel like I got heartbroken a lot."
Speculation about Lisa and Frédéric first emerged in July 2023 after they were reportedly seen together in Paris. Subsequent appearances in different countries, as well as reports linking Lisa to members of the Arnault family, further fueled rumors about their relationship.
Earlier this year, some fans began speculating about a possible breakup after Frédéric was absent from Lisa's birthday celebration in Bali. Following Vanity Fair's latest profile, those rumors have once again become a topic of discussion among fans online.
