BLACKPINK LISA

Lisa on her experience with stalkers: "I'm starting to worry about myself. I'm starting to be more concerned."

K-pop superstar Lisa recently opened up about her experiences with stalkers in the podcast Woody FM with Thai entertainer Woody Milintachinda.

When asked about her experiences with anxiety, Lisa revealed that one of her triggers is her first experience with a sasaeng who showed up at her home after she had just landed in South Korea.

A sasaeng is a South Korean term for “obsessive fans who engage in behaviors that invade the privacy of celebrities, including stalking.”

“ [...] when I got home, I saw them waiting. So I told that person, 'I'm really not comfortable with this. If you want to see me, let's meet somewhere public. Showing up at my house like this? I feel uncomfortable,'” said Lisa.

The incident sparked worry and fear in Lisa: “After I checked my CCTV, I was scared to go outside. And that's when I really started to worry because I was completely alone. I was scared. There Lisa no one with me.”

Aside from the encounter at her home, Lisa revealed that a fan tried to get inside the same taxi as she was in by sticking their leg between the door.

Lisa did not explain what happened after the encounter but said it is one of the things that scared her.

“I don't want to go into too much detail, but it was something I never experienced, and I didn't know what to do. I really had no idea how to react, and I was scared. Scared because that person was way too close,” the idol explained.

Lisa said there were instances where she asked her female manager to stay with her due to too much stress and anxiety about the stalking incidents, which turned out to happen in her L.A home as well.

“It was terrifying for a 20-year-old girl who lived alone,” added Lisa.

Today, Lisa said she hasn't found a smooth solution.

She said in the podcast, “I haven't found a smooth solution. I'm still stressing about this. What should I really do? I'm starting to worry about myself. I'm starting to be more concerned…”
