Blake Lively and Chace Crawford are grieving the loss of their Gossip Girl co-star Michelle Trachtenberg who passed away at age 39 on February 26.
Blake posted a lengthy message commemorating Michelle on her Instagram stories.
"This was the first day I met Michelle," Blake wrote in her caption posted on a photo of her and Michelle from Gossip Girl.
Blake continued, "She was electricity. You knew when she entered a room because the vibration changed. Everything she did, she did 200%.
"She laughed the fullest at someone's joke, she faced authority head on when she felt something was wrong, she cared deeply about her work, she was proud to be a part of this community and industry as painful as it could be sometimes, she was fiercely loyal to her friends and brave for those she loved, she was big and bold and distinctly herself."
Blake recalled how Michelle always had "yummy caramel smelling lip gloss" because she wanted to create a "nice experience for anyone who was in her orbit."
She described Michelle as a kind person, and reflected on friends growing apart over time, alluding to her connection with Michelle fading through the years.
"Time passes. You take for granted that you get the chance to see an old friend. To paraphrase, the real tragedies in life are the ones that blindside you on an idle Tuesday," Lively wrote.
"The world lost a deeply sensitive and good person in Michelle," she added. "May her work and her huge heart be remembered by those who were lucky enough to experience her fire."
Meanwhile, Chace Crawford, who also appeared in the Gossip Girl series, recalled Michelle fondly.
In an Instagram post, he wrote, "Michelle was one of a kind. I remember her coming on set for the first time and just absolutely owning it. She was a force of nature and just so so unapologetically funny and magnetic...remembering those years with a big smile. Just a terrible loss. Love you."
Ed Westwick also took to social media to remember Michelle. "So sad to hear of the passing of @michelletrachtenberg sending prayers," he wrote along with a photo of Michelle.
The four stars appeared in the American series Gossip Girl with Blake as Serena van der Woodsen, Chace as Nate Archibald, Ed as Chuck Bass, and Michelle as Georgina Sparks.
Michelle was found "unconscious and unresponsive" by police on Wednesday in her New York City apartment. The cause of death has not been confirmed. However, she had recently undergone a liver transplant, PEOPLE reported.
She began acting at age nine on the Nickelodeon television series The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
Michelle made her film debut in Harriet the Spy in 1996, and has appeared in several television shows.
In the early 2000s, she received multiple acting award nominations, including a Daytime Emmy Award, for her role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Michelle also starred in films including EuroTrip, Ice Princess, Killing Kennedy, and Sister Cities.
