Remember 'Blues Clues'? Here's a message from the show's former host Steve Burns

It's been 25 years since Nickelodeon's children's program, Blue's Clues, aired its first episode. And in celebration of the occassion, hosts Fil-Am Josh dela Cruz, Donovan Patton, and the original host, Steve Burns, appeared in a short video posted on Nick Jr.'s Twitter account.

The hosts greeted everyone and had a group hug along with Blue the dog.

The post was captioned, “#GenerationsTrend with the 'Blue's Clues' hosts #BluesClues25.”

In another video, Steve explained why he left the show.

"Remember when you were younger, we used to run around and hang out with Blue and find clues and talk to Mr. Salt and freak out about the mail and do all the fun stuff?" Steve started.

"And then one day I was like, 'Oh hey! Guess what? Big news. I'm leaving," he continued.

Steve explained to his audience, "I realized that was kind of abrupt, I just kind of got up and went to college -- and that was really challenging by the way but great because I got to use my mind and take a step at a time and now, I literally am doing many of the things that I wanted to do," he says.

He also expressed how proud he is for everything they've accomplished through the years and how glad he is that people still consider him a part of their childhood as a helpful friend.

"I wanted to tell you that I really couldn't have done all of that without your help and in fact all the help you that you helped me with when we were younger is still helping me today right now and that's super cool," Steve said.

"I guess I just wanted to say after all these years, I never forgot you...ever. And I'm super glad we're still friends. You look great, by the way," he said before exiting the frame.

Netizens were moved by the message and were filled with nostalgia reminscing about simpler times.

One wrote, "Hearing Steve again takes me back to a time when happiness felt so simple and kindness came so easily. To the kids who were tiny back when I was, in the 90s/00s, please keep being kind to yourselves, even if no one else is. Don't stop believing in you."

Another Twitter user said jokingly, "Can Steve come back and compassionately tell me how to get a Clue as an adult. Like how to qualify for a mortgage and meal prep?

As of writing, Steve's video message has garnered 7.4 million views and 566,300 likes.
