Where else can you find almost all the major Kapuso stars gathered together to perform for your entertainment?
Sunday afternoons aren’t complete without everyone’s favorite variety show, SOP. Where else can you find almost all the major Kapuso stars gathered together to perform for your entertainment? Text by Yvette U. Tan. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio. The cast of SOP have been together for so long that they’ve become family. We asked Dennis Trillo, Dingdong Dantes, Jay-R, Gabby Eigenmann and KC Montero, also collectively known as the Boys of SOP, what they love the most about their Sunday afternoon second family. Dennis Trillo: Masaya (ang SOP). Parang naglalaro lang kami. Tsaka passion ko talaga ever since is music. Ngayon, i-exhibit ko yung talent ko sa music dito. Gabby Eigenmann: It’s really meaningful to be part of SOP, because since SOP started, I was there na. It’s really touching kasi, me singing alongside sila Regine, Ogie, the pioneers of SOP is like a dream come true. That’s why I love SOP so much. It’s because of the people around us, the staff, the artists, because we love the things that we do there. Dingdong Dantes: Because this is where I grew up and they love me too, that’s why I love them dearly. Jay-R: I love SOP because it’s (my) family. Everyone is friends and everyone gets along with each other. Kasi when I first started, bago-bago lang, and then I got to get to know everybody. You know, everyone calls it the SOP family and now I know why because there’s a bond na family talaga. KC Montero: I love SOP because for one, they gave me a chance when I first started. They didn’t know who I was and they gave me a job and until now, I still have that job, which is two thumbs up, okay! And after that, it just became kind of like a family. We hang out actually before the show. Like I said, it’s kind of like an extended family and for a guy like myself who has barely any talent who’s still hanging there with SOP, I really give them a lot of love. I’m a host, barely a singer, but that’s why I love SOP, they love me back. Why do you love SOP? Talk about it on our forums! Find out more about your favorite SOP Boys!
