Korean actress and the female lead of 'Boys Over Flowers' Ku Hye-sun graduates with high honors from a prestigious university.
Korean actress Ku Hye-sun is graduating with Summa Cum Laude from Sungkyunkwan University.
The 39-year-old actress shared her good news on social media, along with her graduation photos and her final academic grades.
Ku wrote in Korean, "Hello everyone. It's been a while. Finally, after a long journey, I am going to graduate on the 23rd. I'm writing this with a happy heart that I was able to graduate with high honors (Summa Cum Laude). The grace of Sungkyunkwan University alumni and professors who helped me achieve a small achievement one by one among the lost time... I will not forget. Thank you...!"
The Boys Over Flowers lead actress was warmly greeted with many congratulatory messages from fans.
"Congratulations, unnie. We hope to see you again doing K-drama in the future," one Instagram user commented.
"Very proud of you. I wish you all the best! Also, Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you find someone who loves you like Jun-pyo in real life," a fan wrote, referring to Ku's love interest in Boys Over Flowers--Gu Jun-pyo, played by Lee Min-ho.
Her celebratory news came after a period of hiatus, as she dealt with a divorce from ex-husband Ahn Jae-hyun. The actor filed for divorce in August 2019 after tying the knot in May 2016. They were officially divorced in 2020.
In September 2019, Ku announced on social media that she was taking a break from the entertainment industry to focus on studying in college.
Ku initially entered the Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment at Seoul National University of the Arts in 2003, but dropped out as she became active in acting. She entered Sungkyunkwan University's Department of Imaging in 2011 but took a break from her studies and returned to the university in 2019.
