Yuna of the K-pop group Brave Girls has tested positive for COVID-19, as confirmed by her agency, Brave Entertainment. The company released a statement in the group's fancafe that detailed the situation.
Read the full statement below.
“Hello.
This is Brave Entertainment.
Brave Girls member Yuna tested positive for COVID-19 today.
Yuna already received the second dose of her COVID-19 vaccine, but her condition suddenly worsened yesterday, so she preemptively took a PCR test and received a positive test this morning. Yujeong, Eunji, and all the related staff who took the tests together all tested negative, so we will consider the incubation period and check with the self-testing kits afterwards as well. We promise to do our best in preventing the spread of COVID-19 by continuously carrying out PCR tests.
We have halted all the scheduled activities currently planned for Brave Girls, and we are carrying out the necessary measures by following the guidelines set by health authorities.”
Yuna joins the list of K-pop idols to test positive for the disease. Last year, BTS members RM, Jin, and Suga, had tested positive for the disease as well. RM and Jin recovered from COVID-19 earlier this month, just a day after fellow band member Suga announced his full recovery from the disease.
BLACKPINK member Lisa Manoban also tested positive for the disease, while the other three members did not.
Five members of the boy group Enhypen - Jungwon, Heeseung, Sunghoon, Jay, Jake, and Niki - also tested positive for COVID-19.
K-pop superstar IU had also previously come into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. Fortunately, she tested negative for the disease.
