MTV reality star Bretman Rock reveals his strained relationship with his father who passed away in 2019.

Filipino-American beauty influencer Bretman Rock Sacayanan, known as Bretman Rock, is the current star of a music channel's reality show called MTV Following: Bretman Rock.

The show documents the social media star's life in Hawaii with his sister, Princess Mae, his cousin and personal assistant, Miss Kay Kiefer, and his childhood best friend Larry.

In the second episode of the show, which premiered on YouTube on February 16, Bretman visited his younger sister Princess Mae's house to help her organize her house, just in time for their father's first death anniversary.

Bretman shared, "My dad passed away last year. Three days after he was hospitalized or having a stroke. I haven't really been able to properly mourn about my dad. Because a bunch of my fans showed up at my dad's funeral, and it honestly was just very traumatizing."

The 22-year-old content creator then recalled his memories about his dad as he described his sister's house.

He said, "I noticed her house describes her as a person, a hot mess.

"So, I planned using my dad's Feng Shui lessons to clear off negative energy. I planned out a cute little activity for us to do."

He put lucky bamboo plants on vases and filled them with rocks and crystals for Princess Mae.

Bretman said, "I really just bought you this because I resonate lucky bamboos with Dad.

"He had like a greenhouse outside of our home in the Philippines.

"I feel like, with this gift, I'm giving you a piece of a gift from Dad and I.

"I wish you got to spend more time with Dad, 'cause I think, out of us three, I spend the most [time] with him"

The makeup influencer moved to Hawaii when he was seven years old to live with his mom Mercedita, his older brother Edmund Jr., and younger sister Princess Mae.

He recalled, "When my mom moved to Hawaii she brought my brother and my sister, but my dad decided to keep me there with him.

"She would see him when she visited the Philippines but she really didn't see my dad since she was two."

Princess Mae got teary-eyed when she narrated a recent dream she had about their late father.

"He visited me in my dream, he was telling me that I was a good mom, that he's watching over me and the kids.

"And then today, I haven't seen butterflies for a long time.

"Today, I went walking with the kids and then I saw a butterfly and I told Cleo it was Grandpa."

Bretman proceeded to reveal a haunting memory from his past that caused a strain in his relationship with his father.

He described it as "something he said he has not told anyone yet."

He said, "So, my last memory of Dad, he DMed me. And it was all him just saying, sorry. I never replied.

"I didn't really forgive Dad. I never told him I forgave him.

"I was so angry with dad. I was the only one left [with him] in the Philippines and I'm the only one that saw everything that happened."

Bretman revealed, "I was the one that saw my dad basically cheating on my mom.

"I told my mom that my dad was cheating on her.

"And so I felt like it was my fault that my family's broken. It's hard for me to forgive him when I couldn't even forgive myself."

He continued, "In the Philippines you can't get divorced, you can only get annulled.

"For my mom to get rights to bring me here, I had to go to court and remember the dates and like relive the images in my head. It was so traumatizing.

"I barely look at your dad corner. I feel like I get triggered every time I see. I just regret not replying to be honest.``

On a lighter note, he added, "It feels so great to finally open up about our dad."
