High-quality concert for a high-quality soloist.
SUHO, the charismatic leader of the renowned K-pop band EXO, kicked off the first leg of his highly anticipated world tour as a soloist, "SU:HOME," last June 22, 2024, at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Philippines. The concert was a spectacular event that left fans enchanted and hooked on his captivating performance that ran for almost two and a half hours.
Taking this as a challenge as the concert's first leg outside his home country, Philippine EXO-Ls or Phixos filled the venue with loud cheers and sang along to nearly every song on the setlist.
The concert not only featured an electrifying setlist but also showcased SUHO's versatility and artistry with stunning and aesthetically pleasing stage designs. Phixos were treated to a blend of his solo works, including songs from his albums "Self-Portrait," "Grey Suit," and "1 to 3." Additionally, he also performed "Love You More Gradually," an OST from his recently concluded K-Drama series Missing Crown Prince.
SUHO, Phixos' rock star, didn't stop there. He also delighted fans with a medley and live band versions of some of EXO's hit songs such as "Growl," "Overdose," and "Monster" and also their winter song which made noise during the holiday season, "The First Snow."
The night would not be complete if SUHO did not joke around with the fans. He also interacted in some Tagalog phrases such as, “Kumusta kayo, Manila? Ako si SUHO from EXO! Welcome to SU:HOME!”, “Sobrang na-miss ko kayo,” “Magsama tayo magpakailanman. Mahal kita! Mahal na mahal kita!” and many more.
One of the highlights of the night was a touching fan project organized by the fans. Before the encore, fans sang "Made In You." In one of his ments, SUHO also left a message for the fans who patiently waited for him and the whole of EXO, “I will come back to Manila as soon as possible with EXO.”
He ended the concert with EXO's iconic tagline, “We are ONE, EXO, Saranghaja!”
"SU:HOME" was not just a concert, it was an experience that celebrated his journey as a soloist and somewhat a homecoming to his fans in the Philippines. The concert's success in the Philippines sets a promising tone for the rest of the world tour, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next stops.
