After the With A Smile live chat last August 7, GMANetwork.com had a brief interview with Protégé runner-up, Bryan Benedict, who plays Aston’s sidekick, Elvis in the show. The Kapuso actor shared his tips in finding love for all the hopeless romantics out there.

Bryan Benedict described his first live chat experience as “Enjoy. Relax lang, tapos fun at puro kulitan.” He mentioned that his favorite moment during the chat was when he was asked to enumerate his top three celebrity crushes. They happen to be Max Collins, Kris Bernal and Solenn Heussaff.

Speaking of crushes, how does Bryan Benedict make someone feel special? He replied, “Quality time ‘yung sa akin, kasi it’s not all the time na kasama mo ‘yung special someone mo. Mas okay na kayong dalawa muna ‘yung magkasama, wala munang nagtetext na ibang tao, mas masaya ‘pag ganun.”

What was the most romantic thing that he has done for someone? Bryan shared, “Siguro ‘yung nilagyan ko ng petals ‘yung path niya to a room na mayroong flowers for her. Tapos, siyempre para sa akin, lahat ng ginagawa ko para sa girl, sweet lahat ‘yun kasi hindi ko naman gagawin ‘yun ng wala lang. I consider every moment with a girl as special and sweet.”

What is his ideal girl like? Does he want her to be sweet just like him? Bryan explained, “Siyempre ‘yung independent and hindi sakit ng ulo, kasi hindi naman talaga ako all the time magtetext, hindi ako all the time na tatawag, so basta alam niya ‘yung tama at mali, family-oriented at may takot kay God.”

Does he have any tips for guys who get torpe around their crush? “Recently ko na lang din narealize ‘to. Life is short. Iconsider mo ang every second as an opportunity para ibigay ang best mo. Kung nandiyan na ‘yung ideal girl mo, magpakilala ka, at make the most of the moment,” he advised.

Bryan also makes the most of his other love, showbiz. In terms of acting skills, Bryan has greatly improved compared to the time when he was still in Protégé.

He noted, “Mas hands-on, mas immersed na ako, at alam ko na rin kung saan ako pupuwesto sa harap ng camera, kasi dati sa Protégé, puro acting lang. Mas nakadagdag ng confidence ‘yung recent workshop namin sa [GMA] Artist Center, Best Actor ako.”

He also sees himself in his current role in With A Smile. “Makulit ‘yung character ko doon, si Elvis. May term na ‘bargas’. Parang wala siyang pakialam kung ano ‘yung sasabihin ng iba. Mahilig siyang mang-asar. Ganun din ako in real life, parang kanto boy, kaya hindi naman ako nahihirapan sa role,” said Bryan.
