It all started on May 17, around midnight, when Korean entertainment agency, Big Hit Entertainment, revealed a black and white photo with the words “D-7.”
And Korean boy group BTS also retweeted the post.

To differentiate this alter ego and that of Suga, he derived the name from the initials DT, short for his birthplace, Daegu Town, and Suga spelled backward.
It was on August 15, 2016, when Suga first released his first mixtape as South Korean rapper Agust D. The final cut comprises of ten tracks on SoundCloud and eight tracks on other streaming and download services.
Compared to BTS' K-pop sound, critics have viewed Agust D as a complete 180 as it features a hardcore rap style highlighting Suga's underground influences like Stony Skunk and Epik High.
In an interview with Grazia Korea, he mentioned his desire to release songs through mixtapes as a way to produce music without considering popular appeal or ranking.
He told the interviewer, “When it comes to albums, I always feel like I'm trapped into something. Plus, I feel like I have to be on the Melon charts because the company will be promoting it.
“Since I did the music I wanted to do, I just wanted people to listen to it. People who don't listen to it won't listen for the first 30 seconds anyway so you don't have to advertise it to many people.
“So I didn't release an album, it's cool that way. Plus, it's free!”
Meanwhile, BTS have been working on their next album and have been freely sharing the process with their fans through broadcasts.
For their seventh debut anniversary, on June 13, they'll be performing an online concert titled “Bang Bang Con The Live.”
