All members of BTS, as well as fans and journalists, were present during Jin's send-off.
Kim Seok-jin or Jin of BTS has officially started his mandatory military service in South Korea and his fellow band members were present during his send-off.
On December 13, 30-year-old Jin entered a military boot camp at Yeoncheon, a town near the border with North Korea. Jin will undergo five weeks of basic military training with other conscript soldiers. The training involves rifle-shooting, grenade-throwing, and marching practices. By the end of the five-week training, Jin and other soldiers would be assigned to army units across the country.
Amid the tight security, 20 to 30 fans as well as numerous journalists gathered near the boot camp. However, Jin stayed inside the vehicle until reaching his destination.
Prior to his enlistment, Jin shared a photo of him with a new haircut. RM and J-Hope have also shared photos of the group sending off Jin before his journey to the boot camp.
RM shared photos of BTS together during the send-off and wrote, "We love you, our @jin! See you again soon!"
Meanwhile, J-Hope shared photos of him with Jin and wrote, "Let's be healthy and happy bro!!! I love you!!!
Jin is the first member of the hugely popular K-pop boy band to enlist in the mandatory military service for South Korean men. The six other members are scheduled to enlist in the coming years.
After Jin, members Suga and Jimin are next in line, though no definite date has been set for their enlistment.
While the members are each enlisting in the coming years, BTS is expected to reunite completely in 2025.
