BTS V

K-pop powerhouse BTS has earned 23 Guinness World Records, and V has locked in a few of his own.

From dominating the music industry with their chart-topping hits to taking over the Internet with their personal Instagram accounts, BTS is breaking record after record and V is setting some in his own name.

The Guinness World Records revealed on Monday that V broke two records for being the fastest to amass both one and 10 million followers on Instagram.

On December 6, the Grammy-nominated supergroup launched their individual Instagram accounts following the announcement of their extended break until 2022.

V's account, @thv, overtook a record previously held by NCT's Moon Tae-il after gaining one million followers in 43 minutes. The record-breaking pace accelerated as he achieved 10 million followers in just 4 hours and 52 minutes.

As of this writing, V has gained 25.7 million followers.

In September, BTS landed a place at the Guinness World Records' Hall of Fame for bagging a total of 23 records, including the most streamed track on Spotify in its first 24 hours and the most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube.

According to the record-tracking organization, the seven-piece band has “left a mark in the cultural landscape, breaking free from the limitations of their home market and of a language, South Korean, that remains widely unknown to the international public.”
