BTS' V, also known as Kim Taehyung, recently gave fans a personal health update during a Weverse livestream alongside Jungkook.
The singer said he has been experiencing hearing difficulties in one ear for more than two years, revealing that the affected ear currently has significantly reduced hearing compared with the other.
According to V, the problem became more noticeable while he was completing his mandatory military service.
He recalled initially trying to cope with the symptoms on his own, believing he could overcome them by simply enduring the discomfort. However, the condition eventually became difficult to ignore.
Jungkook encouraged his bandmate to take his health concerns seriously rather than relying solely on willpower.
V has since sought medical care and told fans that he is following his treatment plan, including taking prescribed medication and attending regular hospital appointments.
While the hearing issue presents an added challenge for someone whose career depends heavily on music and performance, V said he is continuing to look after his health as he pursues his work on stage.
BTS is also in the midst of the North American leg of its Arirang world tour, with concerts scheduled in Arlington on the 15th and 16th before heading to Toronto for shows on the 22nd and 23rd.
