Hollywood and fans all over the world mourn for another loss as American actor Nicholas Brendon passes away at 54.

On his social media page, the family broke the news with a tribute to the late actor.

"We are heartbroken to share the passing of our brother and son, Nicholas Brendon. He passed in his sleep of natural causes," they said.

No further details of his passing were added, such as the time and place. Yet, the message continued with a heartfelt message.

"Most people know Nicky for his work as an actor, and for the characters he brought to life over the years. In recent years, Nicky has found his passion in painting and art. Nicky loved to share his enthusiastic talent with his family, friends, and fans," they added.

"He was passionate, sensitive, and endlessly driven to create. Those who truly knew him understood that his art was one of the purest reflections of who he was."

The family then asked the public for privacy during the tough time as they "grieve his loss and celebrate the life of a man who lived with intensity, imagination, and heart."

The message ended with gratitude to everyone who supported and loved the late actor and their family.

Nicholas was well-known as his character Xander Harris in the long-running show Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003).

He also starred in other television series and films, including Psycho Beach Party (2000), Criminal Minds (2005), Kitchen Confidential (2005), Private Practice (2007-2013), Big Gay Love (2013), and Redwood (2017).

The late actor was also open about his health struggles. In a 2023 Instagram post, he told fans he had undergone two spinal surgeries for cauda equina syndrome. He also revealed that he had had a heart attack.
