In the small province of Masbate lies another treasure waiting to be discovered.

In the small province of Masbate lies another treasure waiting to be discovered.

With its pristine white sand, crystal clear beaches, and one-of-a-kind rock formations, Burias Island is the place to be this summer.

The island is located in the town of San Pascual and is surrounded by three bodies of water - the Ragay Gulf, the Burias Pass, and the Sibuyan Sea.

Since it's a new spot waiting to be explored, tourism has been fast-growing ever since and has become an alternative source of income for fishermen.

Here, we've listed down the four main islets visited by tourists.

Animasola is one of the major destinations in Burias Island. This islet is so small you can go around it in just a few minutes. Aside from its size, it features a lot of unique rock formations to take a photo with.

The second main attraction got its name from the fishermen's local knowledge that the islet is surrounded by sea snakes. On the other hand, the reason why it's also called Islang Dapa is because of its flat but rough platform so be sure to wear slippers when visiting this part of the trip. Since this is elevated, it's the perfect destination to cliff dive.

Found in the east-off coast is the TInalisayan Island. Its most popular feature would be its famous “sand bar” which appears as a long-stretch platform of pure white sand during low tides.

Famous for its shape that resembles a hat, this island is privately-owned and has the largest land area among the island of Burias. There are bahay kubos and cottages that can be rented for a price, but some tourists prefer to bring their own tent to save some bucks.
