A beloved workout all over the world, Zumba feels likes a dance party than workout, no wonder why it is so popular. According to New York-based Zumba instructor Jennifer Lauren, there are amazing health benefits that are associated with dancing aside from weight loss. Incorporating dance into your regular routine may lead to a more active lifestyle, better mental health, decreased risk of dementia, and alleviated symptoms of serious diseases.

In Jon's Zumba workout, he mixes low-intensity and high-intensity exercises, targeting muscle toning and cardiovascular conditioning, with dance moves in such a way viewers can follow along.

Stretching

Stretching increases blood flow to your muscles, improves posture, and helps and prevents back pain. Moreover, it can also calm the mind and is great for stress relief.

Squatting

Squats are not just leg exercises that strengthen the hamstrings, hips, quadriceps, and glutes but it can also create an anabolic environment in the body which helps muscle tissue grow and maintain a healthy state. To make Zumba workout more dynamic, Jon did squats with alternating kicks.

Cardio boxing

Cardio boxing is one of the best forms of exercise because it increases cardiovascular fitness and promotes better muscular endurance. Not to mention, it's fun and engaging especially when it's pumped by upbeat music jam.

Alternate leg bounding

Proven to be an essential drill in speed development for athletes, leg bounding can be also done in regular workout routine as it strengthens the muscles in the lower legs while improving power and stability.
