Say what you want about Cai Cortez and her figure. This confident woman would always feel fierce and sexy.
When someone goes to Cai Cortez's Instagram account, the first thing he'll notice is her bio that reads “Naniniwala sa kasabihang: walang himala. Dahil pwede rin maging sexy ang mataba!”
Few scrolls into her curated feed, one picture will stand out: Cai walking on the runway, modeling plus size clothes for local brand Zilingo.
“Ang sarap kasi finally, na-a-acknowledge na, hindi lang ng society [kasi] in fashion itself, na-a-acknowledge na napakalaking percentage ay hindi size zero,” Cai shared when asked about being a plus size model.
“Hindi na masyadong dinidiscriminate yung mga matataba. Meron pa rin pero mas accepted na siya.”
True enough, people and brands are starting to embrace plus size models and Cai is happy about it.
“I'm happy na na-re-realize 'yan ng brands na 'yan ang fact, hindi 'yung fantasy lang na size zero or size two,” she quipped.
“Sa normal na taong bumibili ng off the runway, dapat meron silang makitang model na magrerepresent ng katawan ng normal na tao.”
Modeling is a dream come true and a confidence booster for Cai and other plus size models.
