Edgie Cipriano, Kean's father, died of cardiac arrest today, March 17. 

The Cipriano family suffered a huge loss today, March 17, after Callalily front man Kean Cipriano announced on Instagram that his father, Edgie Cipriano, passed away.

Several showbiz websites reported that Edgie died of cardiac arrest this morning. He was 52 years old.

In an emotional post on social media, the OPM singer paid tribute to the man he referred to as his idol.

Kean said, “This is the saddest day of my life. Dumating ang araw na pinakakinakatakutan ko. Ang bilis, nakakagulat. Pero alam kong everything is written in heaven and everything is in God's will.

“I will miss you Dad! I'm sure the angels will take good care of you. I'm sure you're in a peaceful place now! At alam kong magkikita din tayo dyan one day!” he added.

Kean also expressed his deep gratitude for all the things he learned from his late father.

“Thanks for devoting your life to our family. For living an awesome life with us and for us. Dadalhin ko lahat ng natutunan ko sayo habangbuhay! Kasama ka sa lahat ng pangarap ko!

“Mamimiss kita kakwentuhan, kaasaran at kainuman! Mamimiss ko na yakapin at halikan ka! Yung tawa mo, yung boses mo.. Lahat!! Lagi kang nasa puso ko!! You will always be my idol and my inspiration!”

Kean made a promise to his father that he will take care of his mother and siblings.

“I love you so much Dad! I promise to take good care of mommy, and my brothers! Please always watch over us! We'll be strong for you! Mahal na mahal ka namin daddy!!”

Kean is married to Kapuso leading lady Chynna Ortaleza. They announced their union on Instagram last December 31, 2015.
