
In her Instagram post, actress and comedienne Candy Pangilinan shared the news of the passing of her mother, Dori Espiritu, on Tuesday evening, February 10.
Candy revealed that her mother “Sis Dori” had peacefully “met her creator,” surrounded by the unconditional love of her family.
“With God's unconditonal love Mother /Sis Dori has peacefully met her creator today, February 10, 2026,” she wrote in the caption.
She continued, “We ask for your prayers for the repose of her soul and for all her loved ones.”
The actress also invited friends and followers to join them in honoring her mother, a woman who dedicated her life to the service of others.
“Our dear family and friends; please come and join us, as we celebrate her life of love and service,” Candy wrote.
An outpouring of condolences and support from Candy's close friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry followed the announcement. Among those who expressed their sympathies were Amy Perez-Castillo, Claudine Barretto, Rhea Santos, Gladys Reyes, Vina Morales, and Giselle Sanchez.
“Mahigpit na yakap @candypangilinan. Ang aming pakikiramay,” Amy wrote in the comments section.
“Kapatid my condolences. Mahigpit na mahigpit na yakap,” wrote Claudine.
“@candypangilinan nakikiramay kami Cands,” Gladys commented.
“Sis my deepest condolences to you and your family,” Vina wrote.
“My condolences @candypangilinan I will pay my respects to Tita Dori later,” Giselle commented.
The announcement follows a challenging period for the family, as Candy had been by her mother's side through multiple hospitalizations due to Dori's declining health.
During that period, the actress shared several videos on social media showing her son, Quentin, visiting and spending time with his grandmother at the hospital.
