Carla Abellana mourns and buries an aspin that was a victim of a hit-and-run .

Kapuso actress Carla Abellana recently warmed hearts with a touching act of kindness toward a stray animal.

On Instagram Threads, the actress shared a video of herself in tears as she tried to rescue a hit-and-run aspin victim along a road in Quezon City Circle and gave it a proper burial.

"Unfortunately, the hit-and-run victim is deceased. I could tell because it was already by the gutter. There was a pool of blood by its mouth, and clearly it was stiff-looking and not moving," she shared.

She noticed that the aspin had been moved to the gutter by the sidewalk by the person who hit it.

As soon as she saw the helpless dog, she said, "Because I have naman blankets and pillows in my car, I knew right away that I just had to get the aspin and give it a proper burial."

Carrying the dog in her van, she decided to bury it in an empty lot near her house.

"I just really want to give the aspin a proper burial because kasi nakakaawa," she expressed.

She also shared that the dog had a collar and assumed that it might have an owner.

The actress continued in tears, "I highly doubt that they have an idea or that they're aware that he or she has passed away. I'm giving him or her a proper burial because it's the least I could do."

"I'm sad whenever I see strays that are skin and bones, suffering, sick, hungry, scared, abandoned, neglected--even victims of hit and run--every time I'm on the road."

Wrapping up the video, she urged fur owners to help, rescue, feed, and adopt strays.

She encouraged her followers not just to report, but to "try your best to actually do something about it by going down, stopping, taking the time to put them aside, to feed them, give them food, and give them water."

"You can do something. Don't just take pictures and videos and post and ask for help. You be the one to help because you can," she added.
