Kapuso star Carla Abellana continues to bloom as she embraces a new chapter in her life with her husband, Dr. Reginald Santos.

As she steps into this fresh phase, Carla also opened up about the joy, healing, and gratitude she gained from overcoming the pain of her previous marriage.

In an interview with Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, the discussion began by recalling how Carla once said she no longer saw herself getting married following her separation from ex-husband Tom Rodriguez.

“I remember saying that po. At the time, I was very vulnerable. Medyo hindi pa rin po 100 percent okay,” Carla shared, recalling her interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

“Hindi naman din po biro 'yung pinagdaanan ko noon. Talagang 'yun 'yung paniwala ko at that time—that okay na po ako kahit hindi na po ako magpakasal ulit. I don't see myself anymore,” she added.

However, fate had other plans when she met her now-husband, Reginald.

“But with Reg, definitely nakatulong po 'yun na talagang, okay, puwede mong bigyan ang sarili mo ng second chance. You can love again. You can open your heart again,” Carla said.

The actress described her past as the darkest and most difficult period of her life, made even harder by the public scrutiny surrounding it.

“Tapos hindi po nakatulong na it was so publicized. Kasi ang hirap na nga po ng pinagdadaanan—sobrang sensitive at personal. Mas hindi po talaga nakatulong na public figure po ako. I'm an actress, and kahit ayoko pong ilabas 'yung mga detalye, talagang lumalabas po sila,” Carla explained.

“Ang dami pong frustrations. Nahihila po ako from one side to another. As much as you want to keep it private, unfortunately, pareho po kaming celebrities, so people blow up whatever information they get. Talagang 'yun po ang pinaka-mahirap na pinagdaanan ko sa buong buhay ko,” she added.

Now healed, Carla can talk about the experience with lightness and acceptance.

“Seven weeks lang po 'yun [first marriage ko],” she shared. “Kaya five weeks na lang ngayon, ma-beat ko na po. Nakaka-two weeks na po kami—five weeks na lang, na-beat ko na po 'yung record.”

Carla Abellana was previously married to Tom Rodriguez. The couple finalized their divorce in 2022. Since then, both have focused on their respective careers and eventually found new love.

Carla tied the knot with Dr. Reginald Santos in an intimate wedding in Tagaytay on December 27.

Earlier, she sparked excitement online after sharing a photo of her diamond ring while holding hands with a mystery man. She later confirmed the happy news on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
