Former To Have And To Hold star Carla Abellana couldn't hide her disgust after sharing a couple of photos from the Animal Kingdom Foundation, that reported an undercover investigation of a man illegally farming dogs in Bulacan.
In its Instagram post, Animal Kingdom Foundation told the public, “A dog trader was nabbed by the CIDG-Bulacan and AKF in San Ildefonso, Bulacan after a series of undercover investigations over the man's illegal practice of farming dogs. He raises or farm the dogs and trade them to patrons that operates eateries or small restos.”
“The thirteen dogs were on their way to being butchered. They are taken to AKF rescue center for rehabilitation,” it added. “Let us do this together. We need help to provide these pitiful dogs a better life.”
Carla took to Instagram Stories to warn the public that such terrible acts are punishable in our current laws. She stated, “Mga ate at kuya, iligal po ang pagkatay, pagluto, at pagbenta ng mga aso at pusa.”
“Kulong po kayo niyan,” she added.
In a previous interview with Kapuso Showbiz News, Carla said that being an animal rights advocate is something she's passionate about even before she became an artista.
“Hindi lang siya for the sake of having an advocacy, hindi lang dahil kumbaga as celebrities we have a social media presence, but really it's what I'm passionate about," the Kapuso actress said.
She continued, “I grew up talaga being an animal lover, so nadala ko lang 'yun at nagkataon lang -- bonus na lang siya actually na in the time of social media may ganitong platform like Instagram, YouTube, Facebook para we get to use our voices.”
