Carmen Ojales Curtis-Smith, mother of actresses Anne Curtis and Jasmine Curtis-Smith, has shared a moving tribute following the passing of her former husband, James Edward Curtis-Smith.

In her Instagram post this Thursday, January 8, Carmen Curtis-Smith shared a message for her late former husband, James Edward Curtis-Smith, accompanied by an old photo of their entire family.

“My deepest sorrows for the passing of Mr. James E. Curtis-Smith,” Carmen wrote in the caption.

Carmen also expressed her gratitude, highlighting the "good things in life" that James provided for their family.

“Mr. Curtis-Smith, salamat for the memories that we've shared, hindi ko makakalimutan those old days.. and salamat because of the good things in life,” she said.

Despite their separation years ago, Carmen also emphasized the strength of the bond they maintained for the sake of their children.

"You're the man na nagbigay sa akin ng magandang buhay at hindi ko makakalimutan lahat, thankful kasi we stayed friends," she wrote.

She specifically honored his role as a father, thanking him for the "gift" of their children; Anne, Jasmine, and their late brother Thomas, and for his unwavering love for them throughout his life.

“Thank you for the gift of our children, and for always loving them,” Carmen said.

Closing her message, Carmen promised to keep James' memory alive through a symbolic gesture: “We will always put beer in basong may yelo for you.”

Many friends from the showbiz industry extended their condolences and prayers to Mommy Carmen, including Anne's It's Showtime co-host, Jhong Hilario.

“Deepest condolences and prayers Mommy Carmen,” Jhong commented.
