“My friends or followers there are just like my cousins, my parents. So I have no idea how these bashers found me, but they did."
Cassy discussed that she noticed the pattern in hate comments that she was receiving. She also confessed to getting threats online.
“Eventually growing up, I just noticed I get the same hate comments, I even get death threats which is really upsetting. I really hope you don't do this to anybody else.”
Now that she's matured, she learned how to face these types of comments online.
“Dati affected ako, ngayon I don't need them.
“I just focus on my family, my friends, my loved ones, my fans, 'cause those were the only relevant people in my life. Why would you focus on the haters? They don't know you, but your loved ones know you."
The Kapuso star shared that there's a difference between negative comments and criticisms. Cassy admits that criticisms are acceptable with her as it makes her develop her craft as an artist.
“Hate messages are different from criticisms. You just need to learn how to distinguish what is a hate comment and what is a criticism.
“Sometimes I come across comments online but I understand they're just criticisms. Maybe you should improve on your dancing, improve on your singing, I am all for it. I am all for improvement and getting feedback. Pero iba na 'yung panget mo, ganon ganon. My gosh, how could you say that?”
She ended her statement with a piece of advice when using social media.
“Let's keep it light here.”
