The story of Flames of Vengeance begins with the once-perfect relationship of Maui and John, but it all came crashing down when John cheated on Maui with Angela.

As a result, Maui and John's adopted children, Jericho and Ashley, had to be separated, but the siblings still maintained contact with each other.

Maui became a successful businesswoman, but turned to be an abusive and manipulative mother and eventually forced Ashley to enter into an arranged marriage with Ben.
