Just like Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann, Miss Universe Philippines Catriona Gray has no problem with a transgender women competing at 2018 Miss Universe.
Laura Lehmann, suportado ang first transgender candidate ng Miss Universe-Spain
Transgender woman Angela Ponce made history when she won the right to represent Spain in the Miss Universe pageant.
Catriona shared her insights about the issue, during an interview with a TV network.
She said, “Personally, I have no problem with it, but I do understand why there is quite an uproar amongst all the fans and different people looking at the issue. Because, it is a very young discussion about the LGBTQ and especially coming in to the arena of pageantry where it’s traditional that is natural born women.”
“But you know, I think it really depends - one on Miss Universe organization if they allow it and that’s their prerogative, and also the bansa itself or the country itself if that contestant who maybe transgender can go through the casting process,”
In other news about the beauty queen, Catriona and her Fil-German boyfriend Clint Bondad celebrated their sixth anniversary recently.
The gorgeous model took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message for his beautiful girlfriend.
“The day we celebrated 6 years. ?[It's] funny we never realised that our anniversary was on the Independence Day of the ????????. Ironically however is that we instead lost our independence... but won an amazing journey together that I personally wouldn't exchange for anything."
He added, “@catriona_gray you have given me an amazing 6 years. You supported me literally in my weakest moments but also kept me from becoming a complete idiot. You are the woman that a kind of man like me needs. Strong, viciously intelligent and not afraid to speak up.”
