Celebrities took to social media their condemnation of the brutality exhibited by a police officer who shot a mother and her son to death in broad daylight due to an altercation.
A Parañaque cop identified as Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca was caught on video shooting Sonya Rufino Gregorio and her son, Frank Anthony Gregorio after the two parties got into a heated argument regarding the right of way in Paniqui, Tarlac.
Their confrontation ended with the mother and her son losing their lives, and this appalling news made the #StopTheKillingsPH trend at number one on Twitter Philippines. Celebrities also joined the plea to put an end to police brutality via their social media accounts.
Maine Mendoza couldn't hold back her disgust when she posted Nuezca's Facebook profile.
Mimiyuuuh used her influence to rally her followers in calling for justice.
#EndPoliceBrutality #JusticeforSonyaGregorio #StopTheKillingsPH.”

Macoy Dubs, meanwhile, detested the type of parent Nuezca had been to his daughter who witnessed him kill the mother-son tandem.
Nakakagalit. Napakasahol. Nanghina ako…”
Meanwhile, other celebrities commented on the state of our nation.

🤬🤬🤬
She wrote, “I know that there are good cops around. Some are not even happy how things are run. But they choose to bow their heads and look away. The way the agency is set up, Leadership is everything. The culture of impunity trickles from top all the way down.”
