The campaign aims to launch a nationwide voters registration drive and organize issue-based voters education program.

Singer-songwriter Kean Cipriano and actress Ria Atayde are among the celebrities who have thrown their support to a nationwide campaign encouraging the youth to exercise their right to vote for the upcoming 2022 elections.

Spearheading the campaign is the Youth Leadership for Democracy (YouthLed PH) and various youth organizations from across the country.

The "#KabilangKaSa2022: A Voter Empowerment Celebration" was recently launched online and attended by concerned personalities and celebrities including Macoy Dubs, Renz Saavedra, and Laureen Uy, among others.

The campaign eyes to register at least 1 million first time voters, launch a nationwide voters registration drive by promoting the Commission on Elections' i-Rehistro portal to facilitate accessible and faster registration of voters, and organize issue-based voters education program.

“Elections belong to the people. The more that you know about your candidate the more you can inspire other people to vote,” said Laureen during the virtual panel discussion.

Ria and Kean, on the other hand, stressed the need to keep candidates and elected officials accountable at all times.

“Good governance is a lifetime commitment to taxpayers. It's important to look at the output,” commented Kean.

The campaign also invites youth organizations nationwide regardless of background, status, political affiliation, geographical location, member composition, and social status.

Full list of member organizations will be posted on YouthLed PH's website and social media accounts.
