Chariz Solomon

Do you still remember Chariz Solomon's stint in the original reality-based artista search?

Last Wednesday, November 6, Filipina actress and comedian Chariz Solomon joined Mikee Quintos and Kuya Dudut in another episode of GTV's afternoon cooking talk show Lutong Bahay.

Together with her brother Fourth Solomon, Chariz looked back on her humble beginnings in the showbiz industry, which started when she joined GMA Network's original reality-based artista search StarStruck.

According to Chariz, she ended up auditioning for StarStruck when her Japanese visa was denied.

“[Triny ko mag-Japan], pero hindi ko gusto. [...] na-deny naman 'yung visa ko, tapos doon ako napunta sa audition sa StarStruck,” Chariz told Mikee.

Fourth revealed that it was he and his twin brother, Fifth, who showed a photo of Chariz to their manager and broach the idea of her auditioning for the talent program.

While there were reservations, Chariz still went for it to help her family and change the direction of her career, “Wala naman akong gagawin sa life ko, medyo nade-depress ako [tapos] 'di ako naka-enroll, [so] ano'ng gagawin ko?”

Chariz failed to clinch the title, but she still had her fair share of fun stories and memories from her StarStruck journey, which she happily shared with the Lutong Bahay team.

According to the actress, she did not experience having love teams, suitors, and crushes during her StarStruck days because of her bigger priorities in life.

“Ang baduy, 'no? Kasi partner-partner [na] sila doon at saka hindi ako single nun,” Chariz told Mikee and Chef Dudut, “tapos sa totoo lang kasi [...], siguro lang dahil mas marami akong responsibilidad at an early age, mas iba 'yung isip, trip ko, at mindset ko sa kanila.”
