Hindi naging madali para kay Cherie Gil ang pagkawala ng kanyang kapatid na si Ralph John Eigenmann o mas kilala sa kanyang screen name na Mark Gil.

Taong 2012 nang na-diagnose ang batikang aktor sa sakit na liver cancer at matapos ang dalawang taon, binawian ito ng buhay.

Sinabi ni Cherie sa kanyang Instagram post na nalagpasan niya nag kalungkutan noong namatay ang kanyang kapatid dahil sa isang pet dog. Pinangalan ito ng Onanay star na Hendricks.

Saad niya, "2014 was the most difficult year of my life. It was then when my brother Ralph passed and left us all in the family completely destroyed and lost."

"It was in that same year that this cutie came into my life."

It was in that same year that this cutie came into my life. He kept me company and gave me comfort. When I saw him among the litter , he walked slowly and went straight towards me. He snuggled and rested his head on my shoulder and From that moment I was sure he was the one I wanted to take home. He travelled with me everywhere that year; on the plane , in restaurants and even in hospitals. In the States, where they are more welcoming and kinder to animals, he was given an emotional support tag. He was and is exactly that. He has been my calm and consolation. No other dog has shown me so much loyalty and love. Today is his 4th birthday. Happy birthday Hendricks !thank you for being my constant
