Over the long weekend, Cherie Gil made her way to travel solo in Vietnam.

Like most millennials, the 55-year-old actress still got the eagerness to explore and to learn about the different cultures.

The challenge of traveling solo is getting into your own photo. With the help of my hotel butler Lingh, he snaps one while I wait for my car on my last day in Hanoi. Sooo glad I chose to travel with my #lipaultph super light 4 wheeler and shopper bag! Travelled with other brands in the past but this one hits the spot! Perfect for a brief holiday. I left with a weeks worth of clothes, hand carried, and now I leave with more gifts to bring home, great memories , a happy heart and I still have space left in my suitcase. The best part? It still feels just as light as when I left home! The good news ? #lipaultfw18 collection is now available at 50% off @zaloraph! I highly recommend you get one for yourselves while promo lasts from nov5-11. I swear you'll never regret you did. www.zalora.com.ph/lipault #lovecolorlovelipault

Cherie shared on Instagram what transpired during her recent trip.

She said, "Day 3: a 2-day cruise along Halong Bay (a Unesco heritage site) via @paradise.vietnam never imagined taking a cruise on my own but it sure turned out to be a surprisingly fun and pleasant experience especially being pampered by kababayans! Upgrading me even to the presidential suite ! Maraming salamat ! #luxurioustravel indeed ! ️Vietnam."

On the same post, the Onanay star added that traveling alone is the perfect time to reflect. "It is during these moments when traveling solo gives one the privilege to be introspective while looking out into all the wonderful glory of God's gift of nature. Reflecting on all the amazing blessings given and just simply being in the present moment. always With gratitude"
