Parokya ni Edgar frontman and singer-songwriter Chito Miranda just turned 50 on Saturday, February 7, and he is more enthusiastic about life than ever.
The OPM star shared his sentiments on being 50 and opened up about his realizations at an age he once thought was old.
“50 na 'ko,” Chito wrote online. “[Noong] bata ako, feeling ko ang tanda-tanda na ng 50. Tipong lolo ka na. (Actually, ganun din yung “30” para sa akin dati... lalo na yung “40”… paano pa kaya yung “50”?!)”
Chito even recalled laughing at his uncle when he turned 40 years old, “Tawanan kami kasi di kami makapaniwala parang joke talaga na sobrang tanda na niya.”
But now he is 50, Chito said he feels like he is still in college, trying his best to act like an adult, to eat healthy, to provide and take care of his family, and just trying his best to be responsible.
“Actually, I don't mind being old,” said Chito. “Siguro dahil kuntento ako sa buhay. Wala akong regrets, at sobrang na-enjoy ko 'yung biyahe (kahit magulo minsan), kaya masaya ako kung nasaan ako ngayon.”
He added, “I have a beautiful wife who takes care of me (na parang siya pa yung naka-jackpot sa akin), and I have three wonderful children na sobrang bait at nakakatawa (kahit minsan super kulit).”
Chito also reflected on his job: “I enjoy my job... partying with my childhood friends, nerds pretending to be rockstars, getting paid more than we deserve just to travel, have fun, and still have time to pick my kids up from school.”
At the end of his post, Chito said, “I'm healthy and happy. Wala akong boss kundi si God at ang asawa ko, and I'm in a position in life where ang priority ko na lang ay ang kaligayahan, kalusugan, at kapakanan ng pamilya ko…and that makes everything in life super simple.”
“Kaya for my birthday, wala na akong hihilingin pa,” said the OPM singer.
