Singer-songwriter Chito Miranda expressed disbelief after his band, Parokya ni Edgar, was included on Spotify's most-streamed local artists in the Philippines list for 2020.
The veteran pop-rock band from the '90s landed on the 5th spot behind younger acts December Avenue, Matthaios, Moira Dela Torre, and Ben&Ben.

The band also secured the 8th spot on the top bands and groups streamed in the Philippines alongside Ben&Ben, the South Korean pop sensations BTS and Blackpink, Lany, and Maroon 5.
“Sorry pero sobrang proud lang talaga ako,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Di po talaga ako makapaniwala na kasama pa rin 'yung banda namin sa mga listahan na 'to.
“Top 5 ang Paroks sa mga OPM acts. Ika-8 naman sa bands/groups ('di lang OPM) Grabe 'diba?!
“Salamat po talaga sa lahat ng patuloy na tumatangkilik sa Parokya ni Edgar!!!”
Formed in 1993, Parokya ni Edgar emerged in the music scene following the band explosion in the 1990s.
The band, known for its novelty and humorous songs, produced the hits "Buloy," "Harana," "Halaga," "Mr. Suave," and "The Yes Yes Show."
Parokya ni Edgar is one of the very few bands from that decade that remains intact and active both in the studio and the live scene.
Chito is joined in the band by Darius Semaña (lead guitar), Gab Chee Kee (rhythm guitar), Dindin Moreno (drums), and Buwi Meneses (bass).
Auxiliary vocalist Vinci Montaner is listed as on hiatus but remains very much part of the group.
The band's good friend Paolo Bernaldo of Moonstar 88 sessions for the band to fill-in for Buwi from time to time.
