South Korean singer and actor Choi Bo-min was over the moon after learning that he is set to star in his first Filipino-produced show, Beauty Empire.
Bo-min plays Alex in the GMA, Viu, and CreaZion Studios drama series set to premiere today, July 7.
"I was very shocked when I heard the news and I feel very excited 'cause I heard this is a big project and I like my role, too," he said in an interview with GMANetwork.com.
Asked about his first impression of the Philippines, the former Golden Child member shared, "The foods are very nice and the people are very kind so I'm really having fun in the Philippines."
Besides the food and the people, Bo-min is also impressed with the Filipinos' work ethics.
According to Bo-min, he loves working with his Beauty Empire co-stars Barbie Forteza and Kyline Alcantara because "they are very kind and friendly" and he likes "shooting some drama with them." Last May, he welcomed Barbie and Kyline in South Korea where they shot some scenes for the series.
Bo-min also noted that his co-stars are friendly and energetic, and thoughtful enough to offer to translate Filipino words to him.
As he marks his acting debut in the Philippines, the actor said he wants to learn about the Philippines more and explore its beautiful beaches.
Beauty Empire also stars Sid Lucero, Sam Concepcion, Chai Fonacier, and Ruffa Gutierrez. Meanwhile, Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz has a special participation in the series.
Beauty Empire airs Monday to Thursday, 9:35 p.m. on GMA. It also has a delayed telecast on GTV at 11:25 p.m.
Viewers can also watch Beauty Empire on Viu.
