Metro Manila Film Festival 2021 Best Actor Christian Bables revealed that at one point, he entertained the idea of starting a new life in the U.S. However, that plan was quashed following his win at this year's film fest.
He shared this in a lengthy Instagram post. Feeling "weak," Christian said he was holding weak to his reason for still pursuing his acting career. Suddenly, his once burning passion for the craft dwindled.
"I was planning to move to the US. Create a new life or maybe pursue my passion in acting. Dala siguro ng anxieties dahil aa pandemya," he said.
"But God moves in mysterious ways. The day I was deciding to book a one-way flight to the US, nag message si Direk Perci pasok daw ang Big Night sa MMFF. Ipagpaliban ko daw muna ang pag alis ko, na ang akala ng lahat ng pinagpaalamanan ko ay bakasyon lang," he added.
Because of this turnout, he was reminded once again of his purpose and how giving life to different characters realigned him back to his track.
"Hindi ko alam kung anong plan ni God pero isa lang ang naging klaro sa akin. Gusto kong patuloy na makapaghatid ng mensaheng makabuluhan through my art. Dito sana sa bansa natin, para sa bansa natin. Kung patuloy mabibigyan ng pagkakataon," Christian shared.
He then expressed deep gratitude to the festival and encouraged everyone to support all entries in this year's MMFF.
This was not the first time Christian bagged a major award for the MMFF. In 2016, he was recognized as Best Supporting actor for his role as Barbs in Die Beautiful.
Here is the full list of entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival the public can enjoy until January 7, 2022.
