For many, they couldn't wait for 2020 to be over due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, we lost so many people from the highly-contagious disease, while others had to shelve their plans to tie the knot or travel abroad.
A few days, before Christmas, several celebrities took to their social media accounts to share their thoughts and wishes before we mark the birth of Jesus Christ.
Highly-respected TV-movie actress Dawn Zulueta posted a family photo and defined 2020 as a “crazy year.”
The proud mom of two also admitted that it was pretty hard balancing work and homeschooling her kids.
“Sending socially distanced Christmas wishes!
“We hope this greeting finds you healthy and happy after one crazy year. .
“Our family has embraced the togetherness and slower pace of life. While it's certainly been a challenge to balance working remotely and home schooling, we consider the extra time with the kids a great blessing.
“We hope you've made the most of the year as well. Wishing you much love and joy this holiday, and here's to a brighter year ahead! Cheers! ~ the Lagdameo's”
Meanwhile, Danica Sotto-Pingris posted a bittersweet family photo with her mom Dina Bonnevie, whom she wasn't able to see for months due to COVID-19.
According to the wife of PBA cager Marc Pingris, the family decided to make a difficult decision not to organize any big family get together to keep everyone safe.
“We didn't get to see our [mom] for months that's why we are so so happy we were able spend time before they leave for Ilocos.
“[Three] days na lang and Christmas na! No big celebrations for us this year but we can still be grateful for all the blessings.”
Still a happy Christmas!
Multi-awarded documentarist Kara David, who has covered several gut-wrenching stories about this pandemic, is looking at the bright side of life.
Since tying the knot with her non-showbiz husband LM Cancio in 2018, they will be able to spend their first Christmas together as husband and wife this year.
Kara even posted a cute selfie with her hubby with their Christmas tree in the background.
“First Christmas together as a married couple (lagi kasi siyang nasa barko kapag Pasko) #mrscancio #lmkara”
Actress-vlogger KC Concepcion's heartfelt Instagram post on December 23 got thousands of likes from netizens.
In her post, she wished everyone a Christmas filled with love and laughter.
“Holidays were made for warm scents, yummy cocktails, great music, good food, smooth coffee, gratitude... laughter, maybe happy tears, but surely love.
“Wishing we all experience that this year.”
Determined to encourage everyone to stay positive amid our muted celebration this year, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray posted this touching message to those who are not spending the holiday season with their families.
“I'm missing my family terribly and unfortunately wasn't able to go home to them because of travel restrictions, but I'm grateful to be spending it with new family.
I know a lot of us are in the same position, away and missing our families and loved ones. Just want you to know, even though it may feel like it, you're not alone this Christmas. And soon enough, we'll all be together again. Sending you all big, big (cyber) hugs!!”
