Acting forte Chynna Ortaleza describes her role of Maya in Paano ba ang Mangarap as another notch to her burgeoning career and isn't even one bit worried of being typecast in playing bad girl roles. "That would be a good thing, especially if it's drama -- mas dramatic mas okey, kasi kumbaga it’s my forte so I'm excited. And ayun, makikita naman nila yan eh," ang paliwanag ni Chynna. And her previous experience working with Direk Joel Lamangan proved to be fruitful for the young actress. "'Yung Obra, I wasn't bad there. It was a different character 'cause parang lesbian lover [yung character ko at] ni Sunshine (Dizon). Isa ‘yun sa mga roles na natuwa ako na binigay sa akin ng GMA."
Kaya for Chynna, ang bagong role niya sa Paano ba ang Mangarap ay isang very positive na development career-wise, especially given her familiarity sa style ng director. "The usual bad girl [ako dito], pero what's nice is I'm gonna get to work with Joel Lamangan. Isa 'yun sa mga things na I'm looking forward to talaga. I've worked with him in Obra before and I consider that one of my finer performances as an actress. Si Direk Joel was able to motivate me well, and then I know na I'm gonnna be working with him in a soap, which means in three months I'll be learning from him," ang banggit ni Chynna about working again with Direk Joel. "And most definitely…feeling ko 'pag kasama ko si Direk mas mapapalabas pa niya 'yung ibang side ng-ng acting ko," ang dagdag ng young actress. Future positive At sa ngayon it looks like Chynna has already got into the groove of her acting. Hindi na surprising na alam na niya kung anong klaseng mga shows at istorya na babagay sa kanya. "I have options, it’s either major drama, na siguro talagang mas huhugot pa ng maturity ko…[basta] major drama na pwedeng mahirap, pwedeng may konting sakit or, or ano may abnormality…lesbian ganyan -- basta something in that genre na medyo difficult," Chynna notes. But this doesn’t mean that Chynna is limiting herself into taking on roles that are only familiar to her. Alam na she has to reinvent herself and has a specific goal in mind which she hopes to fulfill this year. "Gusto ko rin ng romantic comedy kasi for a long time I've been doing a lot of bad kontrabida roles. Although alam ko na [being a kontrabida is] really something that I like to do, it's also refreshing to do something funny na may, na may love story…Ganon lang din 'yung hinu-hope for this year," she explains.
